Balloon painting ideas
For this project, blow up balloon to just big enough to fit in little hands and tie off. Set out with a plater of liquid, washable paint. Children will dip the balloon in paint and stamp on paper. Use to make a pattern, picuture, rainbow, umbrella, dot art, and more.
I like to have a blue balloon to dip in the blue paint, a yellow balloon to dip in the yellow paint and so fourth to work on color matching and color recognition at the same time.

To help younger kids figure out how to make an arch and space their colors to make a pretty rainbow, I suggest drawing the arches as a guide. Make the widest arch purple, then blue, followed by gree, yellow, orange, and red or similar.

Don’t the balloon marks make such a fun, texture project! I love the blending of colors and unique brush marks of using a balloon to press and make impressions along the arches to form a beautiful rainbow.
This rainbow craft is such a stunning project for kids of all ages!

You can also use it to make pictures with all balloon marks or have them add a couple and then use crayons, markers, or coloured pencils to add in details to complete the project.

Young children simply enjoy the process of making the artwork and it makes such a lovely modern art style painting filled with lots of pretty color. You can put painters tape on the project first and when your child is done pull it off to reveal your child’s name to make name art if you like.
