Number sequencing activities
Present the number strips to your learner. Use either the numbers 1-5 or 1-10 depending on your learner.
Depending on your learner, this printable can be used in several ways.
The first one, would be to present only the strips and ask them to put the pieces together based solely on the number sequencing.
The second option, would be to provide the learner with the blank template that is found in the printable, and ask them to match the numbers onto the template to put the puzzle pieces together. It might be helpful to use velcro dots to prevent the pieces from slipping around. Alternatively, get the learner to glue the pieces onto the template as they put the pieces together. This will definitely reduce the stress of the learner as they put the puzzle pieces together.
Number sequencing activities for preschoolers
The last option, would be to do this just as a puzzle activity, and instead of focusing on the numbers, the learners can solve the puzzles using their puzzle solving skills.
You can also practice building on your learners vocabulary as well and the recognition of the animals. A fantastic idea would be to pair the number puzzles with the wild animals flashcards. This would work great as a math and literacy center combined into one. The animals found in the number puzzles are also available as flashcards in this set.
Lastly, as always only present puzzles that your learner can handle. Overwhelming your learner can take the fun out of learning, so make it an enjoyable activity for you and your little one!
