Christmas Lesson Plans for Preschoolers
All you need for this fun December writing center are a few simple materials:
- pan or tray with raised edges
- free gingerbread printable letter tracing cards (at the bottom of the post)
- candy canes (as pencils)
- 1-2 cups dark brown sugar
- ½ cup flour
- 1-2 Tablespoons cinnamon
Gingerbread activities for preschool
Put all ingredients in pan and mix together. Smooth. Now print your gingerbread alphabet cards and laminate for durability if you like. Set out with a candy cane or use your finger.
Christmas Alphabet Activity
Their are two ways to complete this fun letter tracing activity. The first option is you can put the cards under the clear glass pan or burry them in the sensory materials. Children will look for the letters then trace them with their candy cane.

The second option is to use the gingerbread letter cards as task cards, guiding students to write the alphabet letter in the gingerbread material with a candy cane or their finger.
