All you need to make this fun Halloween name craft are a few simple materials you probably already have in your craft supplies:

  • black construction paper
  • liquid glue
  • glitter – we suggest white, green, and purple
  • letter spider printable (template below)
  • scissors

Make the web really big so it fills the page. Also, you want it to be tight so the spiders have somewhere to hold onto.

HINT: If you are doing this with young children you can make a web in pencil and your child can trace over the pencil in glue.

Name Craft for Preschoolers

Sprinkkle with glitter to coat. Shake off loose glitter back into your glitter bag or in the garbage to avoid making a mess. Allow the project to dry thoroughly.

Now cut out the spiders containing the letters to spell your name. Add the spiders in the correct order to spell your name.

Halloween Activities

Personally, I like the non-traditionally colored spider webs as they are more spooky and feel perfect for Halloween. So if you are using this in the spring or early fall, white is great. But if you are doing it as a halloween activity for kids I suggest one of the more dramatic colors.

  2. LOVE your spider name project. My students loved every aspect of it. Thank you so much for sharing this cool activity. One suggestion would be if you could please put spider vowels. I had some students with 4 a’s and some with 3 e’s. Just so we can save on paper. Thank you so much. and if I did not tell you yet, I think you are amazing.
